About The IACL
The Italian American Citizen’s League in Kennett Square, PA was founded in 1922 by Italian immigrants who wanted a place they could continue the customs and traditions of their heritage.
As the League has grown and evolved over the years, the love and celebration of Italian culture has always remained. We continue to celebrate the culture today.
The original 1922 clubhouse served for two decades as the primary meeting location for the IACL. It still stands today on Ways Lane.
In 1945, as many of the 1st generation of Italian-American soldiers returned from WWII, the club expanded and the members decided they needed a larger building.
In 1949 the IACL built a larger clubhouse, which is the main building today. It houses a banquet hall, buffet room, dining area, bar, and pool room.
The IACL currently is comprised of approximately 1250 members. The club holds regular events that include; the annual Christmas Party, Men’s Night, Ladies’ Night, Pasta & Trivia Night, Car Show & La Familia Day. We have recently undergone major renovations to our bar area and kitchen.
